New DaVinci Resolve Challenge: Finish Your First Edit in 8 Days

· Ty Turner

DaVinci Resolve eight-day editing challenge
Opening DaVinci Resolve can feel like walking into a control room. You need a clear first project and a path through it.

The DaVinci Resolve — 8-Day Challenge is now inside FlashFilm Academy. It takes beginners from installation and project setup to a finished edit, with one practical step at a time.

Follow your footage from import to export

Start by learning the interface and organizing your media. Build and trim a timeline, balance dialogue and music, correct color, add titles, and set up shortcuts that support your workflow. Finish by exporting and checking the result.

The challenge is built around a 45–75 second story using video clips, spoken audio, music, a title, corrected color, and mixed sound. That gives every new skill a purpose inside the same project.

Finish with evidence of your progress

Each day includes a practical task and a short test. On the final day, inspect the exported video itself. Listen for distracting audio, look for errors, and confirm that the finished file plays as intended.

These habits matter beyond a beginner exercise. Organized media, intentional cuts, and careful delivery help make future edits easier to manage.

Choose a focused starting point

If you already have footage but keep putting off the edit, this challenge gives you a manageable place to start. Follow the course setup guidance and check your computer’s compatibility before installing software.

Join FlashFilm Academy and take the DaVinci Resolve challenge. Move your next project from “I should edit that” to a finished video you can watch and improve.
