New Photography 101 Challenge: Build Camera Confidence in 14 Days

· Ty Turner

Photography 101 camera confidence challenge
You get a photograph you love. Then the light changes, and you struggle to make it happen again.

Photography 101: 14-Day Challenge is now inside FlashFilm Academy to help beginners make more deliberate, repeatable choices. Each day gives you a lesson, a practical assignment, and a reason to pick up your camera.

Learn what changes the photograph

Work through light and color, camera operation, exposure, lenses, and composition. Then build your understanding of flash, close-up photography, studio lighting, and shaping light. The course also covers captions, ethics, and communicating with the people you photograph.

The point is to understand why a photograph works and what to adjust when it does not. Those decisions become useful every time you photograph a person, product, or scene.

Make progress you can see

The daily rhythm pairs roughly 20–30 minutes of reading with 30–60 minutes of practice. Share the requested photograph or reflection in the lesson comments, then practice giving another learner specific, useful feedback.

Seven chapter tests help you check your understanding as you move through the challenge. Your practice images give you something equally valuable: a record of the choices you are learning to make.

Start with the fundamentals

If exposure still feels unpredictable or lighting feels intimidating, this is a clear place to begin. Follow the challenge at a pace that lets you complete the work and repeat the skills.

Join FlashFilm Academy and start Photography 101. Put your next two weeks of practice toward photographs you can explain, repeat, and improve.
