New Final Cut Pro Challenge: Build Your First Finished Video in 8 Days

Understand where everything belongs

Begin with a safe library setup and learn how libraries, events, projects, and media fit together. Explore the interface, import and organize your footage, and get comfortable assembling and trimming with the Magnetic Timeline.

Then work on the details viewers experience: dialogue, music, color, titles, effects, and reframing. You will also practice customizing and backing up keyboard shortcuts before sharing and inspecting your final video.

One project gives the lessons a purpose

The practice target is a 45–75 second story with video clips, spoken audio, music, a title, corrected color, and mixed sound. Each day adds a skill you can apply to that project, with a short test to check your understanding.

The final task includes watching the exported file and checking the result. Finishing the timeline is one milestone; delivering a video that looks and sounds right is another.
