Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve Comes to iPad And We Predicted It.

On Thursday, October 20, 2022, Blackmagic Design announced its launch of DaVinci Resolve for iPad, allowing editors and creators to take their work wherever they go. It's optimized for Apple Pencil and MultiTouch technology, with much-loved features like cut and color pages available on mobile devices.

DaVinci Resolve for iPad will be downloadable from the Apple App Store for free. But you'll be able to purchase DaVinci Resolve Studio within the app if you feel like it.

Let's Learn a Little More About DaVinci Resolve for iPad

The app allows content creators to work with a number of users around the world. Not to mention it's crafted to work exceptionally with Apple Silicon, delivering four-times-faster Ultra HD Pro Res performance on the iPad Pro with the M2 chip.

Users will even be able to send feed grading monitor output to Pro Display XDR, Apple Studio Display, or any other AirPlay-compatible device. Ultimately, this allows you to rapidly create grades or color-correct moments in post-production straight from your iPad touchscreen.

But this launch announcement didn't come as a surprise to us. Why? Because we predicted this turn of events three years ago!

How Did We Predict Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve for iPad?

In 2019, we predicted that Blackmagic Design would bring DaVinci Resolve to mobile devices, particularly the cut feature, since many of the company's competitors were starting to launch on-the-go offerings.

At the time, Adobe came out with Rush, and other industry titans were getting aboard the mobile train. Even Blackmagic Design themselves were beginning to work with iPads, so predicting the launch wasn't too much of a stretch.

While it's taken a touch longer than we expected, we're thrilled to see Blackmagic Design give us editors and creators the ability to use the ultra-powerful DaVinci Resolve on the go.
